Southern New Hampshire Heath System (previously Southern New Hampshire Medical Center) is a hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire, USA, founded in 1891. A 188-bed acute facility, the hospital is now housed on two Nashua campuses with provider offices and rehabilitation clinics located throughout the greater Nashua area. The Medical Center has one of the largest physician networks in southern New Hampshire with over 450 primary and specialty care providers. partnerships with organizations such as Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lahey Clinic, Children's Hospital Boston, Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and Joslin Diabetes Center, offer greater expertise to the community. A $12 million construction project broke ground in July 2004 to expand emergency and cardiology services. Through its affiliation with Lahey Clinic, the Medical Center was the first to bring angioplasty to Nashua in September 2004. Cardiologists at Lahey Cardiology at The Medical Center diagnose heart problems and perform elective angioplasty, cardiac catheterizations, and pacemaker insertions here in Nashua. The Joslin Diabetes Center affiliate at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center opened in August 2005. Located on the West Campus at 29 Northwest Boulevard, it is the first Joslin affiliate in New Hampshire. A team of endocrinologists, certified diabetes educators, including nurses and dietitians, as well as exercise specialists, work with diabetes patients and their primary care providers.
